Lauren Stearns

Lauren Stearns joined the staff in December of 2017 as Student Ministry Assistant. Here are some questions she answered in order for you to know her better.

Where were you born? Birmingham, AL

When were you saved? 3rd Grade

Are you married? Nope. Single as a pringle.

Do you have kids? Nope. These students are my kids.

Why do you serve in student ministry? I serve because I love students. I became very involved in church during my high school years, and I know how vital that time of spiritual growth was for me. I love to see students experience the Lord’s love at such an important time in their lives. I am also extremely passionate about missions and hope to instill that love for God’s people across the nations into our students here. Our God is so good; how could I not want to serve?

Did you go to college or anything like that? I am currently a student at Samford University. I am pursuing a B.S. in Psychology. I am a part of the Global Missions Scholars program at Samford as well.

Are you athletic? Do you play instruments? Are you boring? I would consider myself athletic. I played basketball from 1st grade through 12th grade. I also danced for Hewitt from 7th grade through 12th grade. I can pick up most sports pretty easily (except for tennis….I just can’t get tennis). I love to be outdoors. Hiking, rock climbing, and throwing the Frisbee on a nice day sounds pretty swell to me. I can play about 5 chords on guitar, if ever needed, and I can play some solid beginner level Christmas carols on the piano. I love love love music. LOVE. I constantly have music playing. I would like to think that I’m not boring but who knows?

What is your favorite type of food? Don’t hate me. I really like healthy, organic food. I know, go ahead and make fun of me. I love a good salad. Some fresh fruit and vegetables are my jam. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy some chicken fingers from Jack’s after church too. I can dig some chicken fingers. Of all of the desserts, ice cream is probably my favorite. I will never refuse ice cream (as long as it’s not chocolate).

What is your favorite sport team? My favorite team is probably the Golden State Warriors. Call me basic. I don’t care. Basketball and football are the only sports I can really watch on TV. Anything else and I have to be there to enjoy it.

How do you want to finish this bio of you? I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work with students. I am also thankful to be working alongside Dave and Tait. They sure do love CrossPoint. I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you. Much love from ya girl, Stearnsie.
